Discover the many ways yoga can promote the healthy development of children with learning difficulties. Find out how yoga can support other therapeutic modalities in addressing difficulties with attention, self-regulation & learning. Understanding the different types of learning difficulties. This experiential workshop will provide a strong foundation to teaching yoga to children with the following special needs: Those who are easily over-stimulated Those who are potentially impulsive and or distractible Those who exhibit poor social skills and communication Those with poor muscle tone Those with speech and communication difficulties

The focus of this training will be working which groups of higher functioning children with special needs, who are essentially physically able. Basic information will be provided throughout the training to assist participants in understanding the needs and challenges of this population of children.

What we’ll cover: What is kids’ yoga and the countless benefits it offers this population of children Modified yoga poses, breathing exercising and relaxation techniques Using yoga to develop speech and language, sensory processing, memory and concentration Visuals for children with language-based learning disabilities Behavior management tools for a positive, safe environment Opportunities to observe a students yoga demonstration led by Sanju

This workshop is appropriate for Yoga teachers and parents, teachers and therapists who are interested in incorporating yoga into their work with children.
