|Join Todd and Michael in a week or two of serious frolic as we embody all that Yoga promises. They weave their magic of dynamic and graceful yoga with deeply refreshing pranayama. They blend ancient philosophy with myth and hilarity.
Each day will begin at 7 a.m. with a morning practice that includes Pranayama, Mantra and Techniques of Meditation. There will be two asana practices each day (except Thursday and Saturday when there is no afternoon practice). Both practices will have a specific focus including inversions, arm balances, hip openers, twists, and backbends. Each afternoon will be open for reflection and discourse on all things yoga.
Tantra and Hatha yoga are deeply connected to each other by their roots. Ha-Tha are powerful practices that allow us to bring together two opposite energies into a symbiotic relationship for clarity and transformation. The word Tantra comes from Sanskrit, its root tan means to expand, and the word tantra means to weave, or loom together. There are several important aspects to a Tantric practice. These include Deva, Prana, Mantra, Mudra, and Nyasa. The Deva is the inclusion of a specific divine aspect (energy) into our practice. This is done through Mantra, and Mudra. We also employ specific Pranayama practices to further energize our connection to these divine qualities within ourselves. The practice of Nyasa is the looming (tantra) of all these aspects through each Asana. Initially, we will develop a skillful understanding of the above mentioned practices. As our practice evolves we begin to incorporate these practices into one flowing experience. Tantric Hatha Flow combines all the elements of tantra practices interwoven in a dynamic, alignment-based Asana sequence as foundation and body of our tantric experience.
The daily schedule will include practices of Mantra, Pranayama, Asana. The "tantra" of the aforementioned aspects of yoga will allow us to delve deeper into ourselves, allowing us to recognize the Divine in ourselves.
