	Throughout human history, many cultures have and had Shamans – intermediaries to the Spirit World. Shamans are responsible for the well being of their communities and serve as healers, mediators, and even weathermen and women. Their trips into the Spirit Realm are called Journeys, and are the foundation of any Shamanic practice. In these journeys, a Shaman works to commune with their Spirit helpers to find solutions to problems, heal illness, commune with nature and gain knowledge. This course will focus on experiencing and exploring these realms with guidance and support. Different methods of drug free Journeying will be explored including rhythmic drumming, movement, and candle flame viewing. Topics include: Different methods of Journeying (including rhythmic drumming, movement, guided imagery, candle gazing) Navigating the Spirit Realms (upper, lower & middle) Meeting our Spirit Helpers & Guides (Power Animals, Teachers, and more) Working with our ancestors Shamanic Divination, or finding solutions to problems by asking our Spirits for help Modern tools for Spiritual & Shamanic Practice The differences between Core Shamanism & Cultural Shamanism Shamanic ethics & cultural respect This is a basic level course, and can help the student to commune with Spirit directly. Students will leave prepared to work with Spirit one on one. The many paths of formal Shamanic study & training will be discussed. Included in tuition will be Shamanic Journeying-A Beginner's Guide by Sandra Ingerman and a CD of Shamanic Drumming so the student may start their home practice right away. 12-6 each day.
