|Lighter than Air: Advanced Arm Balancing Workshop with Kelsey Bourgeois and Corrie Proksa - Saturday February 16th 2013 from 1:30PM - 3:30PM
It's in the name-balance! Each body is different and often a big part of arm balances is figuring out your weight distribution and placement in the posture. In this workshop we will begin to develop the musculature needed to get there and the individual alignment needed to stay there. We will also learn techniques to make us feel lighter in these sometimes difficult postures. This workshop is geared toward intermediate/advanced practitioners.
Cost: $25 If you sign up by February 14th, After February 14th - $30 ($20 for Amara Members) Sign up online at http://amarayoga.com/events.php or at the studio before class Questions? email us at email@example.com
Kelsey Bourgeois has been practicing yoga since childhood, always loving to spend time upside down. In 2007 she did her first training at 3B Yoga in Provo Utah, where she received her Yoga Alliance certified 200 hr level training in Ashtanga. Since that time she has taught at studios, high schools, climbing gyms, battered women's shelters, and even abroad for three months in Morocco. Taking with her a sense that everyone can do yoga, as her guru says "if you can breathe, you can do yoga", she has been able to help many different bodies and personalities access the practice. Currently she is working towards her 500 hr Yoga Alliance certification as well as pursuing training to be an AcroYoga teacher.
We have changing rooms, and mats and props are available for use at no charge. If this is your first visit to the studio, please arrive 15 minutes early so we can show you around and help you get signed in. Parking is convenient, plentiful, and always free. Our outside entrance is on the Vine Street side of Lincoln Square, Urbana, next to the Great Impasta.
