This new beginners course -10 classes- will introduce you to the fundamental principles of Yoga. Sivananda Yoga is a traditional, exact and easy-to-learn system that aims at creating a healthy body and mind and that leads to spiritual evolvement.

Proper exercises (Asanas), proper breathing (Pranayama), proper relaxation (Savasana), proper diet, and positive thinking (Vedanta) and meditation (Dhyana) are the keys to harmony and peace of mind.

A typical class includes Pranayama, warms-up including sun salutations, 12 basic asanas and deep relaxation. The asanas are much more than just stretching. They open the energy channels and the chakras, while increasing the flexibility, strengthening the body and improving the circulation. Along with proper breathing and relaxation, asanas also calm the mind and reduce stress.

It is a technique ideally suited to prevent physical and mental illness and to protect the body generally, developing an inevitable sense of self-reliance and assurance.
