Saturday – March 23, 2013 9:30-11:30am Ashtanga First Series for Everybody Ashtanga Vinyasa was brought out of India by David Williams in the 70s, which ultimately gave rise to other prominent styles of yoga such as Vinyasa, Power Yoga and more. Ricky will lead the Primary Series as he learned it from David Williams. This class is appropriate for the semi-fit beginner and beyond. Basic understanding of vinyasa is required. The cost is $30.
Saturday – March 23, 2013 2:00-4:30pm Science and Practice of Yoga Inspiring and enlightening discovery of the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali. What does Yoga really mean? Learn how ignorance can lead to fear and doubt and how to remove the cause so you can live a life inspired with purpose and compassion. This is not just another scholarly talk. Ricky's rich personal experiences offer an authentic yogi's guidance on the teachings of the science of yoga. The Yoga Sutra is regarded as the most authoritative text on the science of yoga ever composed. Ricky will be making sense of Sanskrit through analogies and personal accounts. There will be some postures, pranayama, chanting and meditation. Bring your mat and copy of Yoga Sutras and notes. The cost is $40
Sunday – March 24, 2013 10:00am – 1:00pm SO HUM - A Journey Into Bliss Well-rounded practice including chanting, kriyas, vinyasa, pranayama, and kirtan and meditation. Physical practice will include challenging bends and twists, shoulders and hips, balances and inversions. All levels welcome. Bring a towel and water. Expect to work hard. The cost is $45.
