|mind|body|fitness yoga studies is a 9 month journey of transformation from yoga practitioner to yoga teacher. We offer a solid foundation of information, practice and application that prepares teachers for the modern yoga world and service to others on this yoga journey. Our program is centered on teaching flowing yoga practices (Ashtanga & Vinyasa) from a base of mindfulness. We supplement that base with a diverse range of complimentary yoga styles including Yin Yoga, Restorative Practices and Meditation. Our program exceeds the number of hours required by the Yoga Alliance for the 200 hour Certification. Our mission is to create a legacy of teachers that are seriously dedicated to serving students as responsible, effective, compassionate guides into the rich benefits of a mindful yoga practice...and to have fun on this path! Certifications ?mind|body|fitness yoga studies is approved by the Yoga Alliance to provide a 200 hour registered yoga teacher certification for professional careers in teaching yoga.? Program Curriculum mind|body|fitness yoga studies’ Teacher Certification Program exceeds the Yoga Alliance's requirements for RYT-200 certification.
Contact Hours Techniques Training/Practice Includes asanas, pranayamas, kriyas, chanting, mantra, meditation and other traditional yoga techniques. Hours in the category include training in the techniques and practice of them. mind|body|fitness yoga classes, assisting in classes and in house workshops are included. 80 hrs Teaching Methodology Includes principles of demonstration, observation, assisting and correcting, instruction, teaching styles, qualities of a teacher, the student’s process of learning and business aspects of teaching yoga. 39 hrs Anatomy & Physiology Includes both human physical anatomy and physiology (bodily systems and organs, etc.) and energy anatomy and physiology (chakras, nadies and koshas). Includes both the study of the subject and application of it’s principles to yoga practice. 22 hrs Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and ethics for Yoga Teachers Includes the study of yoga philosophies, yoga lifestyle and ethics for yoga teachers. 23 hrs Practicum Includes practice teaching, receiving feedback, observing others teaching and hearing and giving feedback. Also includes assisting students while someone else is teaching. 12 hrs Electives Includes instruction and practice in teaching Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Pre-Natal/Post Partum Yoga and Meditation 24 hrs Total Contact Hours hrs 200
Non Contact Hours Includes taking specific classes outside of the contact training hours, completing homework assignments, observation of classes and assisting in classes outside of the contact hours and 10 hours of teaching Karma Yoga at mind|body|fitness yoga. Total Non-Contact Hours 92

2013 Training Schedule Our modules are broken into three segments: Rooting - establishing a firm foundation of knowledge; finding your voice as a teacher. Connecting - adding in information and analysis of the more subtle aspects of yoga; processing information and making it true to you as you connect it to the craft of teaching yoga. Expressing - using knowledge and understanding from this program to express yourself as a teacher, in your authentic voice. This segment has lot’s of practice and feedback in a compassionate, guiding environment. It is the polishing of your teaching skills and preparation to become a yoga teaching professional. Rooting Module 1 March 22 - 24 Module 2 April 26 - 28 Module 3 May 24 - 26 Connecting Module 4 June 14 - 16 Module 5 July 12 -14 Module 6 July 26 - 28 Module 7 August 9 - 11 Expressing Module 8 September 27 -29 Module 9 October 18 - 20 Module 10 November 15 -17 Each Teacher Training Weekend: Friday 5:30 - 9:30 pm 4 hrs Saturday 8am-9:00pm 11 hrs Sunday 9am-4pm 5 hrs??Total of 20 hours per weekend module x 10 modules for 200 Contact hours of training.
Regular Tuition: $2500.00
Early Bird Discount of $500 if tuition is paid in full by March 1, 2013.
All tuition must be paid in full 2 weeks prior to the first day of training.
Tuition Deposit: A $300.00 nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve your space in the training. The deposit is included in the full tuition cost.
You will also be responsible for purchasing the books on the required reading list (provided to you upon acceptance). ?
Admission Requirements Applications now being accepted for 2013. We are looking for candidates that have: a minimum of six-month’s experience with a live teacher in any style of Hatha Yoga a desire to learn about yoga with an open heart a desire to serve others through the teaching of yoga We encourage you to practice at mind|body|fitness yoga prior to application. The following grades are given for work completed at mind|body|fitness yoga:
Pass / Fail based on School's Assessment
Hands on Assisting (clear and confident assists) Team Teaching (be able to teach clearly with an understanding the postures and their modifications) Dialog Participation (participating in the group discussions) Attendance (see attendance policy) Writing assignments turned in on time
To graduate, a student must be passing in each section of curriculum. Grading criteria includes: class participation, exams, hands-on techniques, written and practical assignments, homework, special extra credit projects, attendance and timely completion of all assignments. Students who are not meeting the standards of practical experience will be notified and will meet with the director to explore methods of improving performance.
Students are required to make up all class hours missed, both excused and unexcused, by making arrangements with the director. Make up class fees are $60 per hour.
Probation, Dismissal, and Re-admittance
Students who are not passing at the end of each weekend will be considered to be on academic probation. Student may submit an additional essay assigned by the director to be lifted from probation. Students who are on academic probation and continue to fail for 3 weekends in a row will be dismissed from the program.
We want to ensure a safe, open, learning environment. Disruptive behavior, rudeness, inconsiderate actions or inappropriateness will not be tolerated. Should anyone choose to violate these guidelines, we reserve the right to remove them from the program forfeiting any refund.
Leaves of Absence
A leave of absence will be granted pending approval by the directors of the program. Full attendance is required to meet certification requirements.
Attendance and Tardiness
One hundred percent attendance is required. Any missed hours will have to be made up before graduation at a cost of $60 per hour.
Tardiness will not be tolerated and will result in dismissal. All classes will start on time and students are expected to be present and ready to participate at the appointed starting time.
Students are expected to notify school if they intend to withdraw from the program. Any student who fails to attend a weekend intensive without communication is assumed withdrawn.
Cancellation of classes due to weather may occur. It is the student’s responsibility to check the mind|body|fitness yoga website (mindbodyfitnessyoga.com) for cancellations .
Make up days or weekends will be added near the end of the program if a cancellation was necessary.
The $300 deposit is non-refundable Full refund minus the non-refundable deposit will be giving upon withdrawal only if before the training starts. Attendance for all weekends is mandatory, however, should you be forced to miss a weekend you have the opportunity to make it up for a fee of $250. We advise you to schedule accordingly, and remind you that it’s best to be present. You must make up any missed time, and pay $250 for any missed weekend/or $60 per hour of instructor time before we will award you your Certificate of Completion. The first and last weekends are mandatory...no exceptions. If you miss more than two weekends, you will be advised to drop out of the program and be accorded a credit for any unused time towards the next teacher training session mind|body|fitness yoga offers.
