Iyengar Yoga uses alignment to create an inward direction for the mind. Yogasanas are used for the mind to focus on the body, to learn how to act in the body from the mind and intelligence. With alignment we build and structure the body - developing health, decreasing ageing and increasing energy. Alignment, in this manner builds a bridge between body, mind, and intelligence, helping to illuminate the deeper processes of conscious living. Workshop open to all but not absolute beginners as we will be practicing inverted poses. This workshop is best joined in its entirety as a complete and comprehensive workshop that builds from start to finish, so that you can achieve the inclusive and embracing wonder of yoga.

Refining Standing Poses - Alignment in Asana Focus: Alignment in Yogasana to develop the inner focus of the mind to gain precision and maximum benefit from asana practice; includes Standing Poses & Seated Poses
Refreshing Nourishing the Spine Twists help to feed the joints and discs of the spine. Practicing the inimitable Yoga Twists strengthens the bones, joints and structure of the body, helping to maintain lustre and vitality. Focus will be how alignment is essential for understanding the rotations required for: Standing Poses, Twists & Back Bends.
Nurturing the hips Supine and seated poses will help to nurture hip rotations to increase flexibility and ease the weight bearing of everyday activity; whilst Standing Poses work directly to strengthen and consolidate the feet, knees, and hips.
Cultivating Inversions Inverted poses are unique to yoga - they change the heavy gravitational effects of life, re-circulating the blood and energy. Yet these poses require a stronger sense of perception and awareness. This session will concentrate on how to create the best lift for the Inverted Asanas. Includes: Chest Openings, Inversions Restorative Poses and Pranayama
Taming Backbends Regular Backbend Practice offers a boosting and refreshing energy that is not gained from other practices. Backbends don’t need to be difficult nor hard work. Alignment and refinement in practice will take effort and bewilderment away from backbends and bring a sense of confidence and ease when practicing Backbends
Recharging Energy Yoga teaches a deep, inner understanding of restoration and rejuvenation through Restorative Poses and via reverse gravitational poses such as Headstand and Shoulder-stand. Along with concentrated breathing techniques (Pranayama) these poses help to recharge the energy required for a healthy life. Including Inversions, Restorative Asanas, Pranayama.
