The Thai Yoga Massage LEVEL 1 course is our most important course for anyone who wants a strong foundation in Thai Yoga Massage, or who wants to become a professional level practitioner. Anyone can learn Thai Massage.
Thai Yoga Massage Basics: (metta and mediation, safe stances, rhythmic rocking, and touch techniques using thumbs, palms, knees, feet, forearms and elbows)
Effortless transitions between postures
An introduction to contraindications and how to practice safely for both practitioner and recipient.
Care for the client and therapist before, during, and after the massage
Massage for shoulders, head, back, arms, hands, legs, abdomen, and feet.
Tuition includes a supervision in which you will perform a massage on the instructor with good feedback. Documented practices massages are required for progression to the Level 2 Course.
Course Instruction will be given by Anthony Conard, M.A.
Anthony Conard directs the OM Yoga Studio & School of Thai Massage in Dayton, OH, a Kripalu Affiliate Studio.
He was authorized by Thai Yoga Massage Master, Kam Thye Chow, of the Lotus Palm School (in Montreal) to teach Thai Massage.
His compassionate approach is specifically designed to provide a safe method of integrating an Eastern healing arts form and yoga's integration of body, mind, and spirit with the Western understanding of the physical body.
Anthony, a member of the Kripalu Teachers Association began his yoga practice at Kripalu Center in 1986. He has been teaching Kripalu Yoga since 1997, and currently teaches Anthropology at Sinclair Community College. Anthony is also an Ayurvedic Massage, and Shirodhara Technician.
Class meets at the alleyCat studio M-F, 9 am - 4:30 pm except the last day which ends at 1 pm.
