1:00-3:00pm Description: In this workshop we will explore the agni, or inner fire, and how it relates to our ability to transform. Physically, the strength of our agni correlates to how well we break down our food and turn it into energy. On a subtle level, the strength of our agni relates to our capacity to "digest" our life experience, our ability to grow from and assimilate the wisdom from what life brings. Yoga is largely about tapping into this innate force and making it as bright as possible, to "melt" and overcome our obstacles, challenges, and sources of ignorance. The brighter the fire, the better our body functions and the more clear our mind becomes. Then all experiences are opportunity for growth. The weaker the fire, we become distracted and overwhelmed easier, losing sight of ourselves and our power. Join me in this highly engaging workshop, where we will tap in this digestive and spiritual fire, through the yogic techniques of intelligently sequenced postures, breathwork, bandhas, and meditation. Some yoga experience required; open to all levels of practitioners. $25 for this transforming experience. Register at: or day of event with cash or check if there is space available.

About Amie: Amie has been practicing yoga and meditation since 1999, and received her teaching certifications through the Integral Yoga Institute in 2003 and 2004. Since 2007, Amie has been studying closely with Yogarupa Rod Stryker of ParaYoga, which continues to this day. In addition, Amie is grateful for the influences of Anusara, Viniyoga, Vinyasa, and Integral Yoga, and the senior teachers who have embodied and brilliantly imparted the gems of each respective style to her. As a 500hr level teacher, Amie brings a depth of knowledge and experience surrounding the philosophy and techniques of yoga practice, and making them relevant to our times. Amie's classes integrate intelligent sequencing, with emphasis on both optimal physical alignment and subtle energetic effect, mindful breath work, and soulful attention. Other interests include raising her two daughters, photography, sustainable living, and spending time in wide open spaces.
