|Join Kelsey Bourgeois and Corrie Proksa on Saturday January 19th from 1:30-3:30PM for a 2-hour workshop focusing on inversions! Inverting in this case means any posture that brings your feet higher than your heart; going "upside down" is one of the most challenging and exciting aspects of a physical yoga practice, it can also be one of the most rewarding. In this workshop we will explore the techniques by which inverting is possible in a safe and accessible way! Whether or not your feet leave the ground, these techniques and postures can be the key to understanding your alignment and body right side up. Inversions present an exciting challenge that is more attainable - and fun - than you may imagine. Come play! Some yoga experience required.
Inverting: A Change in Perspective Cost: $25 If you sign up by January 7th, After January 7th - $30 ($20 for Amara Members) Sign up online at http://www.amarayoga.com/events.php Questions? email us at email@example.com
Kelsey Bourgeois has been practicing yoga since childhood, always loving to spend time upside down. In 2007 she did her first training at 3B Yoga in Provo Utah, where she received her Yoga Alliance certified 200 hr level training in Ashtanga. Since that time she has taught at studios, high schools, climbing gyms, battered women's shelters, and even abroad for three months in Morocco. Taking with her a sense that everyone can do yoga, as her guru says "if you can breathe, you can do yoga", she has been able to help many different bodies and personalities access the practice. Currently she is working towards her 500 hr Yoga Alliance certification as well as pursuing training to be an AcroYoga teacher.
We have changing rooms, and mats and props are available for use at no charge. If this is your first visit to the studio, please arrive 15 minutes early so we can show you around and help you get signed in. Parking is convenient, plentiful, and always free. Our outside entrance is on the Vine Street side of Lincoln Square, next to the Great Impasta.
