Cold hands & feet? Poor circulation? Frequent colds? Boost your internal fire, and get warm and toasty! We can use Yoga and Ayurveda to overcome the body’s wintertime challenges. A key concept in the natural health science of Ayurveda is the body’s internal Fire, which acts like a command center to control the body temperature, digestion, concentration and immunity. It maintains our enthusiasm and lifts us out of depression. The cold quality isn’t just donated to us by the winter season, it is also in our foods, spices, and lifestyle, movement practices, and relationship to stress. In this session you will learn: • Which foods have hot/cold energetics • How to keep your internal fire burning at the right temperature • Signs of too high and too low heat in the body • Practical tips and recipes for your home kitchen. • Yoga and breath to improve circulation & blood • The relationship between the cold quality and mental & physical imbalances This workshop will include lecture, demonstration, breathing exercises and some yoga asana.
