Backbends are exhilarating but they also require tremendous attention to the balance of the hip joints, spinal muscles, and shoulder girdle. This class for students and teachers will convey how to sequence and practice backbends to assist with strengthening the back body muscles, and to release the resistance in the front body, resulting in a joyful open heart! Recommended: 1 year of asana training
Saturday, April 27th: 9:00AM - 1:00PM Yoga for Scoliosis.
Elise presents her internationally acclaimed workshop on working with scoliosis. By combining the yoga postures with breathing awareness, one can develop a structural alignment, creating a more normal symmetrical alignment. Through yoga, one can find that balance point that allows the scoliosis curve to coexist with gravity and activates the body's natural plumb line. Elise will include practices on the Yoga Wall to help with spinal alignment and traction. Have you done this workshop before? Elise always brings new practices to her workshops! All levels

This class instructs participants in the skillful sequencing of pranayama practices over a 12 week course from the basic beginning pranayama to digital pranayama. Recommended: 1 year of asana training
Sunday, April 28th: 9:00AM - 12:00PM Yoga Therapeutics for the Upper Body.
Elise has just returned from studying in India with the Iyengars and assisting in the medical classes at the Iyengar Institute. From her studies, she has learned and experienced many new ways to help with the neck, shoulders, and upper back. Postural challenges, injuries, and stress can lead to tense, painful muscles in these areas. This workshop class will teach specific yoga practices to help bring this area into better alignment. The result is balance and harmony in the body to help it heal. All levels
