7-hr Continuing Education Course for Yoga Teachers, Massage Therapists and Bodyworkers "Sound Therapy Foundations: The Physics of Sound and Vibrations" http://healingsoundjourney.com/Healing_Sound_Journey/Continuing_Eduction_Course.html This course is designed to give healing arts professionals a strong foundation in the knowledge of sound. The course focuses heavily on the basic physics of sound from which the student develops a basic visual language so as to perceive clearly how sound works and what sound is doing. The physics of sound is then put in the context of the vibrational / rhythmic processes of the body. An Interactive Brainwave Visualization eeg (IBVA) and a heart rate variability biofeedback system (HeartMath) are used to demonstrate some of the body’s most important rhythmic processes that are affected by sound and important to health and healing. The physical properties of various sound therapy tools are analyzed using frequency analysis so as to clarify the source of their differing effects and a variety of sound-therapy modalities are introduced and demonstrated in the context of the physics of sound.
The course will go from 9 am to 5:30 pm with a 1.5 hr. lunch break. The material will be delivered with powerpoint, real-time scientific demonstrations and hands-on exploration.
