Ashtanga: Led Primary Series Fri, August 23, 2013 – 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
This led class will take participants through the Primary Series of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. Followed by a short Sanskrit talk, including yogic psychology.
Ashtanga: Primary Series Anatomy Posture Clinic + Philosophy Sat, August 24, 2013 – 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Bandha's, abs toning, legs behind the head mechanics etc.
Gregor conducts his classes in a compassionate and intelligent manner, with an emphasis on anatomical alignment, proper breathing, bandhas (core strength) and drishtis (looking points) – enabling a sustained energetic flow within the body that is liberating.
Ashtanga: Led Intermediate Series Sat, August 24, 2013 – 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
A led intermediate class is ideal for those who are familiar with the primary series and have a Mysore practice. Designed to build stamina, strength and extra attention to alignment and breath control will be emphasized.
Ashtanga: Intermediate Series Posture Clinic including anatomical, mythological and philosophical background Sat, August 24, 2013 – 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Become informed on ways to begin to reap physical, spiritual, and mental fulfillment from your evolving practice.
Topics Include: The functions and limitations of body parts integral to the Intermediate Series, including the spine, the sacroiliac joint, the shoulder joint, and the hip joint. Background on the three forms of yoga: Karma, Bhakti, and Jnana. Applications of Indian myth and cosmology to deepen your practice. Sanskrit language and its importance to the yogic tradition.
Mysore Practice with Gregor Sun, August 25, 2013 – 8:00 - 10:00am
Higher Limbs of Ashtanga Yoga Sun, August 25, 2013 – 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
In this workshop practices of the higher limbs of yoga within and outside of the Vinyasa practice are described and introduced. You will learn not only how Ashtanga Vinaysa prepares for the practice of the higher limbs but also their techniques will be introduced. This is a practical and experiential workshop that covers techniques such as kriya, pranayama and meditation.
