| May 11-18, 2013 | See schedule listed below | $200 + supplies Join Ayurvedic Practitioner and Yoga Instructor, Tricia Sletten, for a week-long gentle seasonal cleanse. Ayurveda recommends seasonal cleansing as a way to maintain balance in the body and as a means to prepare for the coming seasonal changes. As Nature shifts gears from season to season, you may experience an onset of congestion, sinusitis, allergies, weight gain, or digestive inconsistencies. The purpose of a seasonal cleanse is to take a short period of time to let the body rest and your digestion reset. Ideally, this is a practice that not only cleanses the body, but also the mind and spirit as well. During this week, you will: • Simplify your diet. • Experience detoxifying self-massage. • Discover firsthand how a gentle cleanse helps to clear out excesses accumulated during the Winter. A seasonal cleanse is an opportunity to start fresh and revitalize your mind, body and spirit as the Spring season approaches. To support yourself during this cleanse, it is highly recommended that you revise your work and daily schedules so that your responsibilities are fewer and less demanding. In order to gain the most benefit during a cleanse, there is a high level of commitment necessary. Each student is encouraged to simplify their daily activities and commit to following a specific daily protocol while being open in both heart and mind to new possibilities. Because of the importance of addressing each participants' unique constitution and needs during a cleanse, this program is limited to 12 participants. Please register as early as possible to reserve your place. IMPORTANT: Deadline for registration for the Seasonal Ayurvedic Cleanse is April 22, 2013. This deadline is firm and no exceptions will be made. Each participant must be registered by this date for the following reasons: • Each participant will be scheduled for a 30-minute ayurvedic consultation with Tricia (via phone) during the week of April 22nd. • Participants will begin with a pre-cleanse on May 5th by eliminating, as much as possible, the following foods from their diets: caffeine; sugar; alcohol; recreational drugs; junk food; canned, processed, frozen or fast food. • Participants will be encouraged to drink hot water and/or digestive teas during the pre-cleanse week. • Likewise, participants should try to eat a predominantly plant-based diet of freshly prepared whole food during the pre-cleanse week. • Upon registration, participants will receive foods lists and suggested recipes to use during the cleanse and will need to purchase these items in advance of May 5th. SCHEDULE: Saturday, May 11th | OPENING SESSION 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. We will review the schedule for the cleanse week and address any questions or concerns. Tricia will also lead a discussion about Ayurveda to help familiarize all participants with the basic principles we will be working with during the cleanse. This afternoon will be a complete preparation for the week ahead! Monday, May 13 – Friday, May 17 | MORNING SADHANA 6:15 – 7:45 a.m. Early morning sadhana, or spiritual practice, is a keystone in any ayurvedic regimen. During this week, participants will meet at 6:15 a.m. every morning for a 75-minute guided practice of gentle yoga, pranayama and meditation, followed by a 15-minute session for addressing personal challenges, asking questions or simply sharing their experiences to help support each other and build community during this transformative experience. Saturday, May 18 | CLOSING SESSION 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. During the Closing Session, participants have the opportunity to share their experiences from the week. Before we end our time together, everyone will be guided into creating a personal plan for incorporating ayurvedic lifestyle practices into their daily life. We will conclude with a review of suggested guidelines for shifting back to your regular diet and resuming previous routines, or perhaps the best way to begin letting go of past behaviors and habits. FEE: $200.00 includes the following: One-on-one 30-minute ayurvedic consultation (via phone) with Tricia. Personalized recommendations for herbs and diet. Detailed information about the ayurvedic approach to cleansing. Daily yoga, pranayama, and meditation instruction. Cleanse outline and protocol plus personalized suggestions for getting the most out of the experience. Suggested food lists and recipes. Guidance for ongoing integration of ayurvedic lifestyle into daily life. Continual personalized support throughout the cleanse.
