Pranakriya 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Yoga with Jacci Crofton Yoga in Crofton, MD
The Pranakriya™ 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program is for yoga practitioners who have a love for yoga born out of practice. The program, developed by Yoganand Michael Carroll, is part of the Pranakriya School of Yoga Healing Arts and meets the Yoga Alliance requirements for a 200 hour yoga teacher training program. This program helps practitioners to develop the skills needed to share yoga with students as professional teachers.
You will receive training in these essentials for teaching yoga: Leading warm-ups and preparatory poses Leading opening & closing centering Teaching basic postures (asanas) along with modifications, variations, benefits, contraindications, and adjustments The art of demonstration Basic anatomy and physiology as applied to yoga Yoga breathing techniques (pranayama) Designing, sequencing and leading classes (including languaging, visualization and hands-on assisting) Leading and encouraging body awareness Leading pranayama: yogic breathing (5 key practices) Leading relaxation and shavasana Teaching meditation History of yoga Yoga Philosophy History of Kripalu and Pranakriya Yoga Yoga Lifestyle: Yamas and Niyamas Right Livelihood: The Business of Teaching Yoga, including marketing. You will also engage in many hours of supervised practice teaching. When you have completed the program, you will be able to lead three different types of yoga classes (Gentle Stretch, Meditative Posture Class and Yoga Workout) that will enable you to teach in any setting.
The Directors: Yoganand Michael Carroll and Jacci Reynolds
Yoganand Michael Carroll is a Master-Level teacher in the Kripalu Yoga tradition. Through many years of intensive study and practice of the Kripalu approach to yoga, Yoganand has gained a profound facility to distil and interpret esoteric yoga texts and techniques. After studying with Kripalu Yoga masters in India and America, Yoganand taught at Kripalu Center for more than 15 years before founding Radiant Well-being Yoga Center and the Prankriya School of Yoga Healing Arts in North Augusta, South Carolina. Yoganand is registered with the National Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT500 level teacher and is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists -IAYT.
Jacci Reynolds. A 500-hour Kripalu instructor and 200-hour E-RYT, Jacci has been practicing yoga since 1997 and teaching since 2001. Jacci is currently a Director of the Pranakriya™ 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program and will direct the 2013 program at Crofton Yoga. She also directs the Pranakriya Prenatal Teacher Training Certification program. Jacci is dedicated to creating an environment of compassion, permission, acceptance and patience guiding each person in the experience of being present in their practice and their life.
