Park City Yoga Studio
$2500 ($2100 EARLY BIRD SPECIAL by April 10th, 2013) Learn to teach yoga with Park City School of Yoga’s foundational 200 hour yoga teacher training program. This 200 hour course is ideal for serious students of yoga AND aspiring teachers. It is a Yoga Alliance registered school and comprises three areas of study: The Theory and Practice of Yoga, Yoga Philosophy and The Art of Teaching.

In this 3 month intensive training you’ll learn how to help your students (and yourself!) develop a heightened sense of body-awareness and self-awareness to deepen their practice on the mat, but most importantly how to show them how to take that awareness off the mat and into their daily lives.

Learn how to develop skills for teaching inspirational and safe classes of many different styles for many different levels of students: • discover creative ways to warm-up and cool down the body • learn the benefits of classical yoga postures • learn how to be creative with sequencing • find ways to motivate students and safely pace your class • learn how to work with different students’ skill levels and experience such as offering modifications, posture options and contraindications. • master how to create lesson plans for a complete series of classes with progressive levels of difficulty. • enable your students to experience body-mind integration and purification through yogic breathing, and teaching them to connect consciously with prana, or life force—the inherent wisdom of the body. • understand and practicing creative ways of incorporating various methods of pranayama into your posture sequences. • acquire skills for centering yourself and your students, creating sacred space, and guiding the class in a deeply restorative Savasana. • learn principles of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology helping you to focus on safety, joint movement, range of motion, and gaining a functional understanding of skeletomuscular systems and structures. • gain a deep understanding of yogic philosophy

Content Hours Minimum content hours (as determined by Yoga Alliance) include Techniques: Instruction in Yoga Asana, Pranayama & Meditation 100 hours Teaching Methodology 30 hours Anatomy and Physiology 20 hours Philosophy/Ethics/Lifestyle 30 hours Practicum 15 hours Other 5 hours Total 200 hours

We will be offering this the first week in May of 2013 and will run for 3 months Tuesday nilght 7-9pm; Thursday nights 7-9pm and Saturdays 1-7pm
