Friday night 6:30 – 9 pm Introduction to Sridaiva alignment and to the most fundamental poses of the Shridaiva Yoga Method.
This introductory class to Sridaiva Yoga provides an overview of the alignment method, philosophy, and what common challenges the student will encounter on this paradigm shifting path of body-mind balancing.
Saturday morning 9 – 11:30 am Seeds of Sridaiva
An exploration into a base set of poses, which provides students a well-rounded working knowledge of the Sridaiva method. The seeds of Sridaiva are about 40 poses which are accessible by everyone from teenagers to elders. The key is the Sridaiva alignments, which are best learned from the seed poses. All poses in Sridaiva have stages and modifications, so the seeds and the base poses of the Roots sequence can be practiced by any level of student. All advanced poses in Sridaiva are simply further extrapolations of the base poses applying the exact same optimal template throughout the practice.
Saturday afternoon 1:30 – 4:00 pm Sprouting of Sridaiva
Each afternoon Desi and John will present an exploration into balancing the pranic flows within the body-mind by applying the Sridaiva technology of optimal Biotensegrity.
The Saturday afternoon session will include further expansion of the seeds of Sridaiva. The session will include therapeutics for musculo-skeletal ailments and limitations; hip openers, pranayama, and meditation.
Sunday morning 9 – 11:30 am* The Roots of Sridaiva
John and Desi will use The Roots sequence to best exemplify the full power of the paradigm-shifting alignment technology of Sridaiva yoga. The Roots is the signature yoga routine of Sridaiva yoga, and is now practiced by students around the world. The 54 base poses of the Roots are accessible by everyone from teenagers to elders, as all the poses have stages and modifications, while 54 additional advanced poses will fully challenge all experienced hatha yogins.
Sunday afternoon 1:30 – 4:00 pm* The Fruit of Sridaiva
In the last class of the 5-class weekend workshop, Desi and John will present an exploration into balancing the pranic flows within the body-mind by applying the Sridaiva technology of optimal biotensegrity.
The 2 1/2-hour session will also include therapeutics for musculo-skeletal ailments and limitations; hip-openers, pranayama, and meditation.
*Each class through the weekend intensive will have different themes, and the classes will be progressive day-to-day. Since there will be a clear development of teaching and learning over the weekend, Sunday drop-ins are not permitted unless for special circumstances.
