Relax into Stillness
Healing happens in stillness and health is being in sync with yourself. Join Neva Ingalls in journey into Yoga’s answer to stress.
Modern science recognizes two types of stress. Traumas and unresolved emotions from the past which hold us locked in negative patterns the yogis call Samskaras and current, daily frustrations and disappointments that accumulate and take their toll on our well being and on our relationships. Stress can be beneficial when it takes the form of a challenge that stimulates growth, but only when we know how to maintain equanimity or Sattva.
Yoga provides many tools to help us understand, let go of and resolve the detrimental effect of stress, as well as move into place of peace, wisdom and empowerment.
Together we will practice:
Mantra Sadhana (practice) The use of sound therapy to heal the mind and deep sub-conscious issues, as well as focus intention into positive transformation.
Pranayama (specifically Nadi Shodhana or Alternate nostril breathing) Alternate nostril breathing is a simple profound tool recognized for its power to balance the right and left hemispheres of the brain as well as the para-sympathetic and sympathetic nervous system the Vayus, Doshas and the Chakras.
Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep) Neva will guide you through a systematic process of relaxation in which you sink into a deep state that is like sleep with just a trace of consciousness. In this state the sub consciousness can be accessed and healed. Coupled with Sam Kalpa, or the practice of intention or resolve, deep and positive change can be realized.
