Keep your back healthy, strong, and pain-free! In this workshop, we’ll explore breathing practices and postures from the Viniyoga tradition that promote low back health.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:

*Use adaptations of yoga postures to relieve low back pain *Build core strength using directional flow of the breath *Balance weaker areas of the back with those that are stronger *Create a stronger and more flexible foundation for your spine

Viniyoga is an ancient Sanskrit term that implies differentiation, adaptation and appropriate application of the teachings of yoga. This style of yoga is a gentle, breath-centered practice that emphasizes initiating movement with the breath, directing awareness to the functional effects of the postures, and repatterning neuromuscular habits to support optimal health.

In a clinical study sponsored by The National Institutes of Health, the Viniyoga approach demonstrated a reduction in low back pain (study results were published in the Annals of Internal Medicine).
