Ayurveda, the 5,000 year old India science of life and healthy living, has brought true health and wellness to millions of individuals throughout the ages with simple changes in daily living practices. Ayurveda is based on the radical notion that it is better to maintain good health than to cure ill-health. Incorporating just a few of its proven methods into your lifestyle can bring about radical changes in your life. Ayurveda starts with a determination of your specific "constitution" or dosha. There are 3 basic doshas that we all have in some mixture: Vata (air), Pitta (fire) and Kapha (water). Understanding your unique balance of these, and how you may be imbalanced, allows a personal, healthy diet to be built based on the foods that bring you into balance and those which take you out of balance. The effects are dramatic! In addition to eating right, Ayurveda teaches you how to live right, with daily practices and routines that promote health and vitality while reducing pain and illness.

In this 3 hour workshop Soni will introduce you to Ayurveda and use a simple questionnaire to begin the process of determining your dosha. Then through group discussion we’ll refine that determination and talk about what that means for each group. We’ll talk about what you should and should not eat (you’ll be surprised!), problems you may have with skin, elimination or moods, and other things as you bring up.

We’ll have fun, we’ll laugh (maybe cry a little) and leave with a plan to begin to live healthier.
