Ayurveda is the medicinal branch of Yogic studies. Each individual is a unique manifestation of mind, body, and spirit; as such, there is no such thing as one right diet, medication, or yoga practice for all persons. The work of Ayurveda is to discover one’s constitution and return our individual self to balance with the seasons, the situation, and the time. This workshop will specify Ayurvedic concepts for Fall/Winter.

Ayurveda has to do with diet, but is also key to mental health, hormonal balance, immunity and healing, energy levels, and sleep. Ayurveda is about eating to heal, moving in balance, returning an awakeness to our minds and our skin.

You’ll learn your dosha (Vata, Pitta, or Kapha) and realistic ways to incorporate Ayurvedic principals into your modern life. Alternative medicine is on the rise in part because it restores a sense of intimacy and understanding to our bodies and minds. It acknowledges nature and wholeness, that 'depression' and 'anxiety' are not just 'in your head', that diet and lifestyle influence our sleep, our skin, and our immunity, and that 'illness' is a whole person experience.

As always, the workshop will have a book of informative readings, journaling exercises, lifestyle prompts and questions, take home info. Bring a pen, your mat if you have one, and wear comfortable clothes you can move in but have socks/long sleeves/etc to cover up with as we will NOT be moving the whole time.
