Yoga for Insomnia: Creating Better and Deeper Sleep - Friday, 5:00PM - 8:00PM Sleep deprivation has many adverse effects: it compromises immunity, decreases stress resilience, lowers metabolic functioning, and hastens the aging process. Yet despite the negative impact of insomnia, modern medicine offers few safe, effective, and long-term remedies. How can yoga help? This workshop will touch on the neurobiology of sleep and wakefulness, particularly the central role of the nervous system. We will investigate the ways in which yoga can change our nervous system balance and thus, our sleep patterns. We?ll explore practices including mindful asana, breathwork, and restorative yoga which balance the nervous system, enhance immunity, and facilitate deep and restorative sleep.  

Mind-Body Flow:  Crafting a Therapeutic Vinyasa Practice - Saturday, 9:00AM - 12:00PM Yoga is inherently therapeutic on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels. When we weave together yoga's most therapeutic elements into a cohesive practice, we enhance its healing impact. This vinyasa class will be infused with therapeutic elements you can add to your existing practice, including simple pranayama, postural adjustments, mindful transitions, blockwork and isometrics, and restorative poses. We will use these elements to create space in the body, calm the mind, stimulate lymphatic flow, and build inner awareness and integration. Highlighted areas will include the hard-to-open hamstrings, pec/shoulder junction, and IT band.

Injuries and Chronic Pain Disorders: Awakening our Pathways to Healing - Saturday, 2:00PM - 5:00PM Injuries and pain disorders such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and arthritis place the nervous system on continual alert. Healing requires interrupting pain pathways in the brain while calming the nervous system. Through Integrative Yoga Therapeutics, you will learn how to balance the nervous system and re-establish alignment, equanimity, and health.

The Four Grounds:  rooting through the Feet, Pelvis, Upper Thoracic Spine and Cervical Spine - Sunday - 9:00AM - 12:00PM The feet, pelvis, upper thoracic spine, and cervical spine act as power points of alignment in the physical, energetic, and emotional bodies. They also act as oases in which blood, nutrients, cranial-sacral fluid, and lymphatic fluid are replenished. Learning how to align these four grounds and engage their corresponding components of core body strength can help release points of stagnation and dryness, enhancing physical and emotional life-force.  This class will highlight sequences for feet and legs, pelvic expansion, upper thoracic spine and chest opening, and fascial techniques to release the cervical spine.  Asana, Pranayama, Restorative Yoga and Lecture.  All Levels. 

Each class is $60. Full workshop is $230. Early registration by 8/17 is $190.
