“Ayurveda: Living in Health & Harmony”

Ayurveda, also known as the “science of life” is the oldest, uninterrupted system of healing and preventative medicine. Understand what it means to live according to your prakriti or “constitution” and learn how to adapt this ancient art of healing to fit your life. This workshop will highlight basic Ayurvedic principles and practices to cultivate vibrant living, health, longevity and harmony.

“Mantra, Meditation & the Mind”

Living in a modern world characterized by unprecedented levels of external stimulation, drawing one’s attention inward and engaging in meditation can be highly challenging without techniques to help us bring focus to our inner exploration. Mantra, an ancient form of sound- based meditation, based on the vibratory sounds of the Sanskrit alphabet, is an important and often overlooked yogic tool for bringing focus and grounding the mind, opening the portals to higher levels of awareness.This workshop will provide an introduction to the practice of integrating mantra chanting into meditation and breath work (pranayama) to help bring greater focus to the fluctuations of the mind. You will learn about different types, uses and meanings of mantras, experience the practice of japa meditation (repeated recitation of mantra using a 108-bead mala), engage in pranayama integrated together with mantra, and learn several simple mantras to help begin and ground your practice.

“Stress Management with Ayurveda & Yoga”

Learn unique stress dissolving practices from the twin sciences of Ayurveda and Yoga. Workshop includes special Yoga Asanas and Pranayamas to counteract stress, daily practices to cultivate mental strength, relationship between food and stress, how to eat applying Ayurvedic principles in a way that will calm the mind and boost stress resistance, and a simple meditation to bring about relaxation and peace of mind.

About Yamuna Devi

Yamuna Devi is a Certified Ayurvedic Health and Wellness Counselor as well as a Certified Yoga Therapy Instructor and the Director of Om Ayurveda Wellness. Yamuna is devoted to teaching the practical and profound applications of Ayurveda for disease prevention and for improvement in quality of life. In her practice Yamuna integrates and teaches principles of Ayurveda, Yoga and Meditation for a holistic and balanced approach to achieving physical and mental wellbeing. She is a member of the National Ayurveda Medical Association.
