Empowerment Toward Emotional Wellness with Sally Sugatt, LICSW, RYT500, CYT
Saturday, February 8, 10:30am-4:00pm
The days are now growing longer even though we have a bit of winter ahead of us. So that's the good news or the more difficult news if you're not a fan of winter!
Those of us who struggle with our darker moods might benefit from the opportunity to experience a few gentle yoga postures and mindfulness techniques.
Yoga postures and breathing practices fortify our bodies to withstand the many stresses of our everyday lives. Yoga philosophy (to be present without judging, for instance) and yoga psychology (what gets in the way of you realizing your most centered and most serene self) offer many lessons for the mind and spirit.
This all day workshop will bring us together in a supportive community to explore all these gifts of yoga. Our plan is to create a supportive, welcoming space in which each of us can find some contentment, some new skills, and some rest.
Who is this workshop for?
If you are interested in learning about and considering the Yoga perspective on mood challenges, and you are open to trying postures and mindfulness practices that impact thoughts, beliefs, and emotions, this is the workshop for you!
I invite you all to approach this often difficult topic in a spirit of community that acknowledges the universality of human suffering, and the inherent and equal spiritual value of each individual.
Please wear comfortable clothes for movement, and bring a water bottle for hydration. No prior yoga experience is required. There will be a lunch break and participants are welcome to bring food to the studio or to go to Blue Moon Evolution downstairs, or other nearby restaurants to purchase lunch.
Sally Sugatt is a Certified Classical Yoga instructor at the 500 hour level, a Certified Yoga Therapist, and a licensed psychotherapist in practice in Exeter.
Workshop cost: $60
