Join Kelsey Bourgeois and Corrie Proksa for a weeklong immersion into the Primary Series of Ashtanga yoga at Amara Yoga & Arts in Urbana, Illinois. We will cover the following:
-An in-depth look at practicing the postures in the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga -The invocation and closing chant -Basic adjustments for the Postures in the Primary Series -Practicing and teaching Mysore style -Teaching the Primary Series in Sanskrit -Brief history and philosophical background for Ashtanga Yoga
Schedule: U of I Spring Break 2014 Monday 8-11:30 AM & 1-4 PM Training Tuesday 8-11:30 AM & 1-4 PM Training Wednesday 8-10 AM Mysore Practice & 1-5 PM Training Thursday 8-11:30 AM & 1-4 PM Training Friday 8-10 AM Mysore Practice & 1-5PM Training Saturday-10:30AM -3:30PM (hr break for lunch) Location: Amara Yoga & Arts, Lincoln Square, Urbana
Recommended attendance of Tuesday 7 PM Full Primary Series led class and Thursday 5:30 PM Intro to Ashtanga Class. Each of these classes may substitute for one missed Mysore Practice.

Who should attend: Yoga teachers, teacher trainees, and anyone who is looking to deepen their understanding of the Primary Series is welcome. This training fulfills continuing education requirements for RYS 200, E-RYT 200 registered teachers per Yoga Alliance and will count for 50 hours towards Amara’s future 300 hour training (pending Yoga Alliance approval).
