Holding the Pose for Deep Release

CEs: Techniques & Practice

How does yoga help us get unstuck? Yoga isn’t just about feeling better it’s about feeling more. We all have issues in the tissues, tensions lodged in cellular memory. Research shows that yoga creates a 40% increase in theta waves, indicating better access to emotion, memory and the unconscious. Learn how yoga can flush psychological and emotional obstacles to the surface so you can return to your natural state and live with your eyes wide open, from a place of authenticity and wholeness.

In this workshop, we’ll turn up the heat with Dynamic Gentle Yoga’s approach to holding the pose. You’ll learn to develop the sustaining phase of practice, the phase of “being” in the posture.

Find energy and steadiness in your full expression.

Explore this ancient yogic technique that settles the discursive mind!

Tranformational Yoga Teacher Training: Holding the Pose for Deep Release

CEs: Teaching & Methodology

Learn how to lead students in extended holdings with safety and compassion.

For experienced and aspiring teachers.

Learn the tools for guiding Stage II, the deep, therapeutic holding-aspect of Kripalu practice. Last year, our training explored techniques to heighten internal focus and concentration, in Stages I and II, the meditative aspects of taking your students deeper. This training goes one step further.

This training is about turning the heat up, while maintaining a safety and offering lots of permission to self-regulate the intensity. In Stage II, we raise the energy, increase toleration for sensation, strengthen the “container for experience,” and strengthen the witness (seat of intuition and insight). Stage II can be seen as the therapeutic aspect, the challenging side of Kripalu Yoga, that nurtures change organically.

Come to build the skills you need to guide this shining jewel of Kripalu Yoga, including the ability to:

Create safety

Set a clear context of the purpose and benefits, precautions and contraindications

Design a progressive sequence

Clarify the specific steps that build the experience

Experiment with specific language to guide each element effectively

Integrate activities that anchor this depth experience.

Experience the practice yourself.

Practice the elements with supportive peers.

Receive group mentoring and teaching tips.

This approach can be used in your regular classes as a way of deepening in the poses, or become a special class or workshop for deepening practice.

A manual with theory, methods and resources will be provided.

Participants Earn 20 CEs in Teaching & Methodology and Techniques & Practice when attending full Weekend Immersion

Chair Yoga & Meditation Anyone Can Do, Anywhere CEs: Techniques & Practice

All-Levels Chair-Based Practices that Challenge the Able-Bodied, Yet Gentle Enough for the Challenged.

Chairs literally raise the platform of support that makes yoga possible for those challenged with balance and getting up and down on the yoga mat. Yet chair yoga actually facilitates many stretches that are deeper than regular yoga on the mat.

Chair yoga is also a very transportable yoga, offering essential stretching to help you feel better at work or wherever you are.

Instructor Rudy Peirce recently modeled an entire Chair Yoga practice in a new DVD for Diabetes published by Peggy Cappy, a prominent gentle yoga teacher with a strong presence on PBS. He also is the lead Chair Yoga instructor in Kripalu’s advanced teacher training course on Yoga for Specific Conditions. This class will reveal the plenitude of practices available in this emerging style, joining the accessible family of Gentle Yoga. Practices that clear and calm the mind, boost energy, help with stiffness or arthritis, relieve back pain and neck pain, and more.

Not just for people who need chairs.

Learn poses and meditation practices you can do whilst in the middle of your work day, while traveling, exploring a new approach to practice at home, or sharing the possibilities of yoga with a friend or loved one.

Expand your yoga practice & increase intensity.

Explore Portable Chair Meditations that you can weave into your day when there’s little time for practice.

Includes Handout to aid your practices. $40 Early Bird; $50 after Register Now

All students welcome to attend Fri, Sat & Mon.

Teachers encouraged to attend all 5 workshops & receive 20 CEs* with Yoga Alliance

Teachers: Saturday afternoon is a prerequisite for Sunday’s TT
