These three weekends are designed for you to gain a deeper understanding of Ayurveda and how it can help you to feel healthy, balanced and vitalised. The weekends are suitable for anyone with the desire to learn about Yoga’s sister science and its applications to health, yoga, diet and home therapies. Each weekend may be taken individually or you may choose to partake in all three. For BCY teacher trainees the three weekends together can compose one intensive that counts towards your 500 hour diploma Yoga Alliance certification.

‘Ayurveda’ is a Sanskrit word, meaning ‘wisdom of life’ or ‘knowledge of longevity’, and is the world’s oldest holistic healthcare system. Ayurveda’s timeless wisdom offers us a ‘Users Manual’ for how to get the most out of life. It offers a simple approach, without being simplistic! The Ayurvedic toolbox covers diet, natural remedies, lifestyle practices, rejuvenation and detoxification processes, hands-on therapies, as well as meditation and the principles of ‘wise’ living in order to have healthy minds and bodies. But be warned… there are no ‘quick fixes’ as Ayurveda is a way of life rather than a short-term intervention. There are also not many ‘one size fits all’ solutions, it takes a little time to discover your type (or Dosha) and discover the art of living in harmony with nature. These three weekends offer a wonderful foundation to achieve this.

Course Dates:

1-2 November 2014: Introduction to Ayurveda (and Autumn/Winter Ayurvedic advice)

28-29 March 2015: Ayurveda and Yoga (and Spring Ayurvedic advice)

30-31 May 2015: Practical Ayurvedic: Diet, Cooking, Body Care (and Summer Ayurveda advice)

NB: Ayurveda places great emphasis on adapting to the changing seasons for optimal health. These three weekends have been designed to focus on this seasonal aspect of Ayurveda, in addition to the topics outlined. Weekends can be attended individually or as a package.

£145 per weekend if all three weekends booked (£435 in total), £155 per weekend if two weekends booked (£310 in total) or £165 if one weekend booked.
