Prana is a sanskrit term that refers to both breath and life energy. In yoga, breathing exercises, called pranayama, are practiced as a powerful way to awaken and transform energy from within. This workshop will introduce breathing exercises that are appropriate for all levels of experience, explore the significance of pranayama practice within classical hatha yoga as described in texts such as the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, and discuss the benefits of pranayama practice from a modern perspective. Attend if you are looking to expand your knowledge and deepen your yoga practice. All levels welcome.
