Are you a current yoga teacher looking to master your skills, or a yoga student seeking to delve deeper in your practice? Our weeklong trainings are a great opportunity to capture these goals. This program composes the first part of 200hour teacher training.
The goal of this week is “Establishing power for yourself and others.” You will be introduced to the foundations of assisting/adjusting, and be exposed to understanding the anatomy of yoga postures and movement of the body. Discussions on the Yoga Sutras and philosophy of our flow will teach students about the depth and versatility of practicing yoga. You will also learn how to translate these timeless teachings into your current classroom experience. You will be introduced to leading a class by receiving voice coaching, and learning sequencing basics. A unique aspect of this training is the amount of time spent in practicing your teaching skills through live teaching sessions to your peers. Receive feedback throughout the program and grow. This weeklong session is an inward journey that brings the focus to the internal by recognizing where we hold back, and where we can break through. Program leaders: Sid McNairy and Lindsay Lusignea. Applications are accepted on a first come first serve basis, so it is recommended to submit your application early. Trainings can fill quickly. ADDITIONAL PROGRAM INFORMATION Each week of training consists of 100 hours including contact hours and assignments to complete after the program. Therefore, to complete our 200 hour training program, the trainee is to attend Phase I and Phase II. In order to attend Phase II, Phase I training must have been completed. However, trainees are able to attend Phase 1 only. Upcoming Phase II Trainings are: June 8-15 @ Sid Yoga Center, Towson MD August 1-8 @ Core Energy Yoga 200 hour teacher training: In order to receive certification through Sid Yoga and graduation of our 200 hour Teacher Training program, post-training practicums and assignments are to be completed. These hours and experiences are for the trainee to practice what they learned during their training and apply them into practical settings. Once these post- program requirements are fulfilled and approved by the SYTT Board, the teacher will receive their certificate of completion.

Weather & Clothing
Depending on the time of year, the weather in Nashville can vary from hot & sunny summers to cold and snowy winters. Please review the weather forecast before attending your session to know what to pack and wear. All training hours will be indoors. During program, plan to wear sportswear acceptable for practicing yoga (preferably no cotton, just wicking materials) and bring layers to cover up during seated discussion or partner work. There will most likely be 1-2 yoga asana practices throughout the day, so we recommend bringing at least two changes of yoga clothes.
