Therapeutic adaptive yoga offers individuals with chronic health conditions healing techniques that bring health and wellness to all levels of being: physical, psychological, and spiritual. This 2-part training focuses on children with learning differences and adults with specific autoimmune diseases.
Part 1: The healing path of Therapeutic Adaptive Yoga; Children’s Yoga techniques and specific learning differences related to: sensory processing disorders, ADD/ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and executive functioning disorders; introduction to yoga for adults with autoimmune diseases and the 4 Stages of Healing.
Part 2: Therapeutic Adaptive Yoga for Multiple Sclerosis as an autoimmune disease with neuromuscular symptoms. Covering a wide range of symptoms that are common to other health conditions as well, Part 2 includes chair yoga and adaptive asana techniques.
Presenter: Karen O’Donnell Clarke found the healing path of yoga as a teenager more than four decades ago. Yoga has informed her life ever since, enabling her to thrive after her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in 1997 and more recently cancer in 2012. She has advanced certifications from Kripalu 500 hrs and Integrative Yoga Therapy1000 hrs.
Karen developed Therapeutic Adaptive Yoga for Multiple Sclerosis YTT which she has presented nationally since 2003. This is now an approved Module 3 for the IYT 500hr program. She taught yoga to children and teens with learning differences for more than 10 yrs. Learn more at www.yogahealsus.com.
