Santa Fe, New Mexico is known as the City Different. Located in northern New Mexico, this high-desert town (elevation 7,000 feet), and oldest capital city in the US, is steeped in art, Indian and Spanish history. Surrounded by blazing blue skies and the majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Santa Fe is the perfect natural setting for an inspirational trip. It was recently named one of the top destinations in North America by Conde Naste Traveler. Join Laura in her new, but old, playground. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to share the culture, the food and the breathtaking beauty of Northern New Mexico with you. Laura weaves her passion for the Southwest with her joyful yoga teaching into a trip you'll never forget... You just have to experience it! Whether it's practicing yoga in an old General Store, exploring Santa Fe's Canyon Road art scene, visiting the myriad of museums & historic places, shopping the boutiques & galleries in the historic Plaza, experiencing the energy amongst Anasazi ruins, soaking in natural hot springs, pampering yourself with spa treatments or simply kicking back in our lovely New Mexican casitas, this trip was made for you! Oh, and did we mention the food? Santa Fe is a foodie's paradise!
No yoga experience necessary! Laura will meet you right where you're at, there will be something for everyone in every class.
We'll be staying in casitas at a unique adobe inn called Las Palomas. You can find your inspiration in front of your own fireplace, with a cup of tea, by simply enjoying the peace and quiet of your space. Perhaps your inspiration comes from exploring the surroundings, taking in the art and soul of Santa Fe as you savor the sun.
Our trip starts on Tuesday night with a welcome gathering at the Inn. Each day we'll have a morning yoga practice to get you going, followed by breakfast. Then, your adventures begin! Afternoons are free to be. Laura will recommend and accompany you to the highlights of different neighborhoods each day. A complimentary shuttle will enable us to get around in inclement weather.
If indulgence is the order of the day, opportunities for massage or other healing modalities abound, and appointments can be arranged with any of a number of practiioners and spas, with a discount offered through our Inn's sister property and spa.
Late afternoons bring us back to the Inn for a more meditative yoga practice, followed by dinner at a local restaurant. Plenty of opportunity to try New Mexican cuisine, as well as lots of other foods.
One day, we'll head out into the countryside to discover the land and its ancestral inhabitants, enjoy a short hike to explore Anasazi ruins (weather permitting), enjoy lunch at an out of the way resort and treat ourselves to a soak at an amazing natural hot springs.
