About David Magone Since founding PranaVayu Yoga in 2001, David has received a number of accolades in the press with features in Vogue Magazine UK, the Wall Street Journal, Self Magazine, Women’s Health and many other publications. In addition to teaching PranaVayu classes, workshops and trainings worldwide, David regularly contributes to the Huffington Post Healthy Living section, and serves as a curriculum developer and trainer for Exhale Spa’s national yoga teacher training program. In developing PranaVayu Yoga, David has drawn inspiration from the styles of his two original teachers, Holiday Johnson and Bill Counter. David’s work has also been heavily influenced by Ideokinesis pioneer Mabel Todd, the Periodizationtheories of Tudor Bompa, the yogic discipline of Yoga 23 founder Andrei Sidersky, and the Tibetan approach to meditation under the guidance of his guru, Harvard University Buddhist Chaplain Khenpo Lama Migmar Tseten Rinpoche. Friday October 3rd 6:00-8:00 ---- Change Your Body, Free Your Mind
This challenging vinyasa class will help you trim and tone your entire body with a challenging sequence of standing postures, light as air backbends, and deep hip opening practices. This class includes traditional breathing practices (pranayama), a full warm-up and cool-down cycle designed to enhance flexibility and muscle recovery, and full 15 minutes of guided meditation in savasana.

Would you like to discover the ways in which skeletal positioning can be used to transform your spine into a spaghetti noodle? Do you sometimes experience lower back pain or and shoulder discomfort while back-bending? If so, then this workshop is for you. Participants in this workshop will learnhow to most effectively sequence back-bending practices, explore key skeletal shifts necessary for a pain free practice, and learn to identify three important lines of energy that can be used to safely align broad categories of postures such as the bow, camel, and wheel pose.
Saturday October 4th 2:00-4:00 -The Alignment Cheat Sheet: Principles of Forward Folds
This workshop will help you experience how subtle shifts in your skeletal positioning can be used to INSTANTANEOUSLY improve your forward folding range of motion. To accomplish this, you’ll learn sequencing basics for hip and hamstring opening practices, simple techniques to keep less flexible students safe when forward folding, and the locations of three lines of energy in the skeletal structure that can be used to position 99% of the forward folds that you’ll ever encounter in a yoga class.

This handstand practicum will help you experience the joy of being upside down in a fun and supportive way. Perfect for aspiring and experienced practitioners alike, this all levels class will introduce you to simple partner based techniques to facilitate safe handstand entry, bail out options for when you fall, and lots of tips and tricks that you can use to maintain balance once you find yourself upside down. This workshop will also include simple all levels progressions that can used to build the strength and body awareness necessary for fluid handstand presses from standing forward folds and the crow posture
