We live in a time where living with anxiety and depression has become the norm. The National Institute of Mental Health sites studies that indicate 18% of adults in the United States experience significant anxiety and depression in one year alone and only half seek treatment.

When living with anxiety and depression we can sometimes point to specific triggers to our experience of these states or we may feel as if it's always been there, permeating everything without any apparent cause. We feel it in all parts of our being; body, mind, & heart. Whether anxiety and depression co-exist for you clearly or whether or not they are symptoms of larger dynamics in the body mind, yoga is a abundant resource in building a resilient foundation within yourself to face these challenges.

In this workshop led by Paul L Barr, who was diagnosed with clinical depression 18 years ago, you will learn about how anxiety and depression plays out physically in your body and how yoga and your body can begin to manage & shift how you experience these states. You will also develop skills around essential breathing practices from yoga as well as explore meditation from it’s core purpose and how meditation can be a powerful tool in supporting skill development and insight into how you specifically experience anxiety and depression. Everyone welcome, no yoga experience is necessary.
