Jivana Plantation is an oasis of calm where you can sit and watch the stars from the privacy and comfort of your veranda, before the sounds of rural India lull you to sleep. It's the perfect place to find solace, the luxury accommodation and facilities effortlessly blend into the lush greenery, ensuring peace and privacy. Nestled on the hillside overlooking the quiet village of Dandos Wadda in northern Goa, Jivana Plantation is hidden amongst flourishing gardens overlooking traditionally farmed paddy fields.
This retreat is about creating balance from within. We will achieve this through a Yang morning practice of dynamic vinyasa yoga followed by a Yin early evening practice of Hatha and Restorative yoga. Elements of Pilates will also be weaved into our evening sessions. The large shala is situated in the centre of the site surrounded by landscaped gardens, allowing you the space to deepen and explore your practice.
Food is vegan, mostly organic, home grown and home cooked. This will help to detox the body and clear the mind. Fresh fruit and vegetable juices will also be provided to enhance your detox so that your body feels clean and light, free and clear leading to an enhanced yoga practise.
There will also be plenty of time in between sessions to relax within the nurturing environment of the Jivana Plantation and enjoy the coastline or the nearby beaches.
Groups are kept small so everyone receives the attention they deserve and there is plenty of time and space to retreat into oneself and take time out if that is what you need. There are no prerequisites for this retreat. We welcome all levels and abilities, shapes and sizes, men and women.
THE YOGA PRACTICE Morning practice will be energising, flowing and strong. With her roots in Ashtanga Yoga, Sally will take you through various Vinyasa Yoga flow sequences that will stretch, strengthen and cleanse the body. The sequence will include vinyasas, standing, seated and inverted postures and will be different each day.
The evening sessions will be more reflective and inquisitive. We shall look at the details of chosen postures more closely so we can apply what we learn to the morning sessions, and focus more on relaxation, breathing and observation of ourselves.
