With life becoming increasingly demanding and frenetic, stress and anxiety are at an all time high – never more so than over the Christmas and New Year period, when even the most centred and level-headed can reach boiling point! This “season to be jolly” often equates to huge levels of pressure being placed upon having “fun” and creating an “idyll” – perfect ingredients for an emotional pressure cooker!!
Unsurprisingly negative coping strategies also peak during this period - people over eat, drink to excess and react and respond to triggers that under normal circumstances they would be ignore. It makes sense that once the 1st January comes around, most people are ready to make changes in their lives, to erase memories of recent behaviour and set new goals and “resolutions” for the year ahead.
With this in mind, Clare intends the retreat at the beginning of 2015 to assist participants in: - letting go of the past - becoming more aware in the present - establishing realistic and achievable intentions for the future
Whether the area of focus is body image, detrimental behaviour patterns, negative thinking or self-confidence, Clare will demonstrate how yoga can be used as a tool for transformation. She will share how a focused, conscious practice can help to create change in all areas of life – change that will result in a positive, healthy and more conscious future.
Clare’s yoga style is accessible to all. Through a subtle blend of Hatha and Vinyasa styles she actively enables and encourages students to challenge themselves not only a physical level but in many respects more importantly in her mind on a mental, emotional and spiritual level.
What better way to start 2015?
Like many people, Clare first started practicing yoga to help her cope with a stressful career and hectic lifestyle. It was through her yoga practice, that she developed the inner strength to make huge changes in her life, leaving the glamorous yet crazy world of advertising to become a Complementary Health Therapist and Foot Health Practitioner, and subsequently a Yoga Instructor. In the past 6 years of instructing Clare has taught a wide variety of students from those with a dedicated daily practice to those trying yoga for size, from the very young to those enjoying their twilight years.
