Saturday 10:00 - 16:00 with break for lunch. All ages and abilities welcome. No previous experience necessary. People with breathing knowledge will also benefit.
Pranayama Pranayama is from sanskrit language and means energy. In yoga it’s the prana that is produced by three part breathing in keeping us healthy and balance. There one type of prana with are many types of breathing to achieve health; higher energy, cooling, physical breath, meditation, movement, and mindfulness.
What you learn: In this workshop participants are taught natural and three part deep breathing, the positive effects on their minds, body and spirits, breathing cycles as well as how ineffective and shallow breathing can lead to many problems: confusion, lethargy, ill health, depression, sadness, anxiety, etc. Different breathing exercises with various benefits are taught.
When breathing is correct one may feel generally happy, uplifted and optimistic creating extra oxygen in the blood, healthy lungs, and proper focus, thinking. Otherwise when breathing is shallow one may become depressed, sad, ill of health, or lethargic.
Who benefits: Most everyone will gain; all ages, abilities and mobility. Pranayama / Breathing aids those that have asthma, lung and heart problems, general health issues, anxiety, depression, general mental health issues, physical problems and more. The breathing techniques are especially good for people into sports, walking, high level business, and complex lives.
In the Workshop: Our breath is an important aspect of all movement. An easy to remember sequence of asanas – movement is taught for home practice to continue improving the breath.
Each participant will have their posture; walking and natural breathing assessed at the beginning and then end of the class. It is thought that each person will be able to increase their breathing ability threefold by the end of this workshop.
Instructor: Cilica, a yoga therapy practitioner and educator of 14 years is gifted as an intuitive and meditative. From a compassionate and humorous centre, she shares ancient wisdoms with participants to help unlock their potential, gain freedom, new perspectives and clarity. Cilica ignites a connection to nature through all aspects of yoga strengthening the connection between the body, mind and spirits.
