One's whole being, starting from the physical body, can be refined and strengthened so it act's as a medium for the higher cosmic force. The system of hatha yoga was designed to transform the gross elements of the body so they can receive and transmit a much subtler and more powerful energy.Yoga is a practice of ever-unfolding metamorphosis, as this is accomplished through the physical postures (asanas), conscious breathing (pranayama), and the clearing and focusing of the mental consciousness (meditation, or dyana).

In this Sunday afternoon/evening class, we will engage these various practices of Yoga. We'll begin with 30 minutes of pranayama and meditation, followed by a 90 minute active practice of standing poses, inversions, forward bends and twists. We'll complete our session with 60 minutes of restorative poses, whereby we are heavily supported with blankets and props, yet dropping in a deep Savasana state while in these therapeutic positions.
