This 200 hour yoga teacher training retreat will take place at the beautiful, beachfront, eco-friendly Bamboo Yoga Retreat on Patnem beach, Goa. There are 2 yoga platforms, one of which has stunning views overlooking the Arabian Sea! And the other with a quieter temple energy looking out on to open green tropics. This training is a perfect opportunity to learn how to teach yoga in a nurturing, healthy, supportive environment, where you can really unwind deeply as you move deeper into your practice. One of the advantages of training on an intensive retreat as opposed to the longer trainings, is that you can totally immerse yourself in the work involved, with the support of a group, with no interruptions from usual responsibilities; Bamboo retreat can offer you the chance to discover depths in your yoga practice in an environment that supports healing and rejuvenation. The waves of the ocean will lull you into a peaceful sleep after an active day of Yoga. Each ensuite beach hut at Bamboo Yoga Retreat either has a view of the ocean or is set in their garden. Huts are ensuite with western style toilets and showers.

THE CURRICULUM : • Asana (including how to teach, adjust and apply modifications) • Anatomy and physiology in relation to the asanas. • Creative sequencing, structuring and pacing classes. • How to teach beginners courses and intermediate classes from start to finish. • The practice and teaching of meditation and Pranayama, • Yoga philosophy including the history and wheel of yoga, using a comparative study of the major spiritual traditions in India. • Subtle anatomy- the 3 bodies, the 5 Sheaths, Chakras and Nadis etc. • Structural Yoga therapy- an introduction • Ayurvedic yoga therapy- an introduction • Chanting • Diet – Living foods meets Ayurveda • Kriyas (internal cleansings). • The business of Yoga • Lots more and lots of fun!

THE METHOD The asana in the trainings is primarily Vinyasa. We work primarily with two sequences, the Mula Krama (foundation series) and Vikasa Krama (Expanding series) which are physically challenging, with a strong anatomical alignment-orientated focus and which do not loose touch with their holistic base.

A TYPICAL DAY •06:45-9:30am Yoga practice and meditation •09:30-10:30am Breakfast break •10:30-1 p.m. Theory class: Anatomy, Philosophy, Ayurveda, Subtle Anatomy •01.00-3.00 p.m. Break for lunch, study, relaxation time! •03-4.45 p.m. Theory class: Anatomy, Philosophy, Ayurveda, Subtle Anatomy •05.00-7.00 pm Teaching practice and Learning the art of adjustments or •Yin/restorative style yoga with Pranayama. •7.30 p.m Dinner buffet style. •Extra: Weekly spiritual cinema evenings.

PRICE The Price of the training is 2,400 euros. This includes : • 25 nights shared accommodation March 12th – April 6th, 2014 in delightful Bamboo beach bungalows on Patnem beach • All hand-outs and laminated practice sheets. • Healthy, delicious vegetarian breakfast & lunch daily (on the 2 off days, only breakfast will be provided) • Course tuition • Buffet style delicious dinners. • Dolphin watching boat ride • Green Lotus Yoga Teacher Training Cert. upon successful graduation of the course. Please note: single accommodation is also possible at 3,125 euros. BIO Carol Murphy is the primary trainer on all of the Green Lotus Yoga Teacher Trainings. She have been practising yoga for 25 years, teaching for 18 years and training for 9 years. She has taught 16 yoga teacher trainings to date, graduating over 100 teachers from the training throughout Ireland and abroad. She started formal classes in 1989 (at age 19) in San Francisco and has been practicing yoga ever since. She studied Iyengar yoga for her first 12 years of practice and was very devoted to it. During that time, she learned the importance of precision and structural intelligence. In 2001, she changed her practice to Ashtanga yoga and dedicated herself deeply to this practice for 8 years, travelling abroad to study with many leading certified teachers and visiting my teachers Pattabhi Jois and Sharath Rangaswamy annually in Mysore India. When she started Ashtanga, it was like waking up from a deep slumber. Working with breath energised her spirit and flushed new life through the whole of her being. Working with the heat of the Vinyasa practice also changed her body in a way that she did not think possible. After 8 years of solid Ashtanga practice, something new in her started to stir, a seed of a new chapter where she could merge her Ashtanga practice with her desire for playfulness and creativity and her need to integrate holistic principles relating to the wisdom of subtle anatomy and Ayurveda. These gifts created solidity and ground from which Carol can rise and fly, roots and wings, creating safety, balance, expansion, health and joy. She is inspired to share these gifts with her students and to help them to share the gifts of yoga with others.
