Practice 108 minutes of yoga to raise funds for Wellness House cancer support programs
Join us for the 3rd annual Wellness House Yogathon fundraiser. On Saturday, September 27, 2014
Local yoga enthusiasts are invited to practice 108 minutes of an all-levels yoga practice to raise funds for Wellness House of Annapolis. Since the first year, participants have raised over $6,000 for cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones.
Wellness House of Annapolis volunteer yoga instructors, and area teachers that support the cause, will lead the series that will be appropriate for all levels, and end with a guided meditation.
WHY 108? There are 108 beads on a strand of every mala (or prayer necklace). Each completed minute becomes a bead of the mala. But, regardless of the meaning of 108, it is important to remember that a yoga mala is a form of meditation and like the prayer beads, each moment of practice should be practiced with sincerity, devotion and full attention.
WHERE: This year the event will be held at the Wellness House of Annapolis, located at 2625 Masque Farm Road, Annapolis, MD 20143.
WHEN: Saturday, September 27th. Registration and check-in starts at 8:30 am, practice is 9:00 am – 12 noon
Fundraise for Wellness House and Registration is FREE!
Participants raising funds of $200 or more for the event will receive free registration, a Yogathon t-shirt and will be entered in a drawing with other fundraisers to win an eco-friendly Yoloha yoga mat.
